District Day of Service

On Saturday, January 9, all units in the Western District are asked to do a day of service.  You decide what to do.  You can help clean up at your Chartered Organization or local school.  This is the official kick-off to the 100th Anniversary of Scouting.  What better way to kick-off a special year, than to show the community what scouting is all about!  Please remember to visit the home page of the council website, access the 100 Year Anniversary Info page and log in your hours of service.  That way you can be recognized at the Council Recognition Banquet and in the TIDE.

Important Date Changes

Scout Show - March 13th

District Scout Show

Will be held on March 13th, at Biggs Park Mall.  All units are invited to attend and set up a booth.  Be sure to wear your scout Uniform or a pack or troop t-shirt.  This is a fun event for the whole family and all are encouraged to attend.

District Pinewood Derby

Our District Race will take place on Saturday, March 13 at Biggs Park Mall.   All first place winners for each rank (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I, Webelos II) from each pack are eligible to race in the Central District Race.

Scouting for Food

Thank you to all of you that participated in the Scouting for Food service project.  We were able to collect over 4,581 cans of food and deliver directly back to the needy in our community.

Trails End Popcorn

Than you to all of you who participated in this past Trails End Popcorn Sale.  We had great success in our district.

Trainings

We are currently in the process of finalizing our training schedule for the coming year.

Roundtable

District Roundtable meetings will be held at the First Prebyterian Church, located on Church St. in Lumberton, NC . We will continue to meet on the Second Thursday of every month. Roundtables begin at 7:00pm with a gathering of all, to share council and district news. Then we split up into our Cub Scout Roundtable and Boy Scout Roundtable. Please have a representative from your unit attend this very informative meeting.

Good Turn for America

This is a way for us to record service hours that each of you are already doing.  Please log your hours in so we can see how which units are doing service and well our district is doing in service work hours.  If you have questions or need your unit's id number or password, please contact our District Executive Matthew Bull.
