Boy Scout Troop 420 sponsored by the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church along with the Cape Fear Council, BSA announces that Samuel Hewitt Fulton, III was presented the God and Service Award during the worship service celebrating Scout Sunday at the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church.

The God and Service Award is a national recognition designed to express appreciation for outstanding leadership and significant contributions by an adult to the spiritual, social and physical lives of our young people. Mr. Fulton has given selflessly of his time so that young people may have richer lives.

Mr. Fulton has been a long time adult Scout volunteer. As a boy, he was a Scout in Troop 420. In 1976 he began four year tenure as Scoutmaster for the troop. In 2000, he answered to call again to serve the troop as Scoutmaster for two years. Since 2002, he has served the troop as an Assistant Scoutmaster. Over the years, Mr. Fulton has served Scouting in many other capacities as a volunteer. He is seen as a leader among Scout leaders as he has served the community and council for years to offer youth the Scouting opportunity.
