FULTON RECEIVES GOD AND SERVICE AWARD
Boy Scout Troop 420 sponsored by the Laurinburg Presbyterian
Church along with the Cape Fear Council, BSA announces that
Samuel Hewitt Fulton, III was presented the God and Service
Award during the worship service celebrating Scout Sunday
at the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church.
The God and Service Award is a national recognition designed
to express appreciation for outstanding leadership and significant
contributions by an adult to the spiritual, social and physical
lives of our young people. Mr. Fulton has given selflessly
of his time so that young people may have richer lives.
Mr. Fulton has been a long time adult Scout volunteer. As
a boy, he was a Scout in Troop 420. In 1976 he began four
year tenure as Scoutmaster for the troop. In 2000, he answered
to call again to serve the troop as Scoutmaster for two years.
Since 2002, he has served the troop as an Assistant Scoutmaster.
Over the years, Mr. Fulton has served Scouting in many other
capacities as a volunteer. He is seen as a leader among Scout
leaders as he has served the community and council for years
to offer youth the Scouting opportunity.
Assisting in the award ceremony were David Harling, Troop
Committee Chairman and Craig Ellis, Institutional Representative
for Troop 420 both former recipients of the God and Service
Award.
Monthly Leadership Roundtable Meetings
Monthly Leadership Roundtable Meetings are conducted on the
2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 in Wagram on McKay Street
(at the American Legion Building). ALL parents and leaders
are encouraged to attend. Learn more about scouting and meet
others who share the same passion.
