Join us at the Ft. Fisher Aquarium as their staff leads us into the world of Oceanography. Participate in lab experiments with real marine biologists and visit the salt marsh to conduct field studies. Join us for a morning of searching the stars at Ingram Planetarium in Sunset Beach. The Planetarium staff will be conducting an in depth Astronomy Merit Badge Class just for our Scouts. This is an awesome opportunity to learn all about our solar system. Come and join your fellow Scouts at the News Reporter for an in-depth Journalism Merit Badge class. Participate in understanding developing stories, touring the facilities, and learning more about what the field of journalism has to offer. We are proud to announce our partnership with the Wilmington Ballet Company in Wilmington to offer Theater Merit Badge. Scouts will meet to understand theatrical production. All Scouts should attend in Class A uniform and bring along note taking materials. A merit badge book, workbook, a snack, and blue card will be provided as part of the registration fee. The Northeast District of the Cape Fear Council – Boy Scouts of America and the New Hanover County Law Enforcement Officers Association are partnering up to offer a fun, free event open to all children in New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick Counties. We are excited to partner again with the Bald Head Island Conservancy to offer a merit badge program which includes an overnight stay at the BHIC dormitory. Scouts will complete requirements to earn the Soil & Water Conservation merit badge and the Astronomy merit badge. Refund Policy Fees are generally not refundable; however they are transferable to other Scouts in the same unit. Full refunds will only be considered if requested in writing using the Activity Transfer/Refund Request Form a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of Council organized activity (cub camp, merit badge days, jamboree, Philmont, etc.) and are subject to approval by the Council Camping Committee.
Partial refunds may be given for later requests due to emergencies, medical situations or mandatory summer school. Requests for partial refunds must be received in writing by the Program Director no later than 10 days after the conclusion of activity and will be reviewed by the Council Camping Committee. Notify the Program Director immediately if a Scout may not attend activity due to illness, injury or a personal issue.
All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing and mailed to the Council Service Center attention Program Director or emailed to email@example.com. Attention: Activity Transfer/Refund Request. Please include how the check should be made out, who it is to be mailed to, and all pertinent information in relation to the reason for the refund.
