Sculpture MB at the CAM

Sculpture Merit Badge Class
Cameron Art Museum, 3201 S 17th St, Wilmington, NC 28412
Open to all Boy Scouts
Join us at the Cameron Art Museum as they lead us in a Sculpture Merit Badge Class. Scouts will have an opportunity to try their hand in sculpting clay, wood, stone, and making molds. We are excited to partner with the CAM and look forward to a great class with subject matter experts. As part of the registration fee Scouts will receive a Merit Badge book, worksheet, blue card, and all necessary merit badge clay and materials.
Wilderness First Aid Training
Date: October 27 – October 29 | Time: 6:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is the assessment of and treatment given to an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care of a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available. In this WFA class, course participants learn how to assess, treat, and, when possible, prevent medical and traumatic emergencies within the scope of their training.

Fishing MB at Ft. Fisher Aquarium
Date: November 4 | Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Fishing is a favorite activity for many people. In this merit badge adventure, Scouts will learn more about surf fishing, local fish, knot tying, conservation efforts, and safety during a classroom workshop. Scouts also go on a saltwater fishing adventure on the beach nearby. All bait, tackle, spinning rods & reels, and licenses included. Limit of 15 participants. Catch & Release only.
Merit badge pamphlet, blue card, and workbook provided. Scouts will need to bring a lunch or prepare to purchase lunch on site.

Oceanography Merit Badge Class
Date: December 2nd, 2017 at Ft. Fisher Aquarium
Join us at the Ft. Fisher Aquarium as their staff leads us into the world of Oceanography. Participate in lab experiments with real marine biologists and visit the salt marsh to conduct field studies. There is much planned for the day and as part of the registration fee each Scout will receive a Merit Badge Pamphlet, work sheet, and the actual Merit Badge Patch.
Indian Lore Merit Badge Class
Cape Fear Museum – 814 Market St., Wilmington, NC 28401
December 27th, 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Open to all Boy Scouts
Investigate the first inhabitants of the region! Learn about the Cape Fear Indians and the Waccamaw Sioux. Analyze museum artifacts. Play the Native American game of “bowl catch”. Make pottery, haft a shell tool, and build your own replica dugout canoe. Listen to Native American stories under the stars in our portable planetarium.
The Cape Fear Council and Cape Fear Museum are partnering to provide this unique merit badge opportunity for Boy Scouts. In this workshop, Scouts will complete all requirements of the Indian Lore Merit Badge. Scouts should be in Class A uniform and bring along note taking materials. Each Scout will receive a merit badge pamphlet, workbook, and blue card.
