Volunteers Key to Success of Cub Camp
During the past 3 weekends over 100 volunteers came together to put on Cub Scout Spring Resident Camp! This is the 20th consecutive year Camp McNeill Cub Scout World has hosted a spring resident Camp, all of them fully staffed and organized by volunteers. Thank you to the hundreds of dedicated Leaders, Parents, Troops, and friends that take time out of their busy lives to organize and staff this amazing experience each year for our Cub Scouts.
Thank you to Mr. Matt Gould, Cubmaster of Pack 262, for his excellent job as Program Director for this Camp. For the past few months, Matt has spent every free minute coordinating all of the volunteer staffing, planning each activity & craft, and developing a fun & entertaining program. The results of his is tremendous effort as well as those of the dedicated volunteers is rewarded through the smiles on the faces of every Scout each week.
We believe there is magic in the dirt at Camp McNeill… Through this soil, these Scouts experience something that very few children have the opportunity to experience… GETTING DIRTY! Camp McNeill creates an environment where it is ok & safe for children to be outdoors, sleeping in a tent, splashing in puddles, and crawling through the Mine Shaft. Through these experiences, character is developed and the Scouting program begins to take hold. Thank you to all of our parents & Cub Leaders for bringing their Scouts to camp, we look forward to seeing you in the fall.
